WELCOME TO BLAZE BASEBALL
 

The Mokena Blaze is the official boys’ travel division of the Mokena Baseball and Softball Association which provides annual baseball activities for over 1,500 players in the Mokena and Lincoln-Way area.  The Mokena Blaze features both part-time and full-time boys’ travel baseball teams from 7u through 14u.  Over the past decade the Mokena Blaze has provided its travel players with the best training and coaching in an effort to prepare them for success at the High School level and beyond.  While wins and losses teach important lessons, we believe that success is determined by hard work, determination, discipline, structure and solid baseball fundamentals and mechanics.  Blaze teams promote our players’ personal growth, leadership skills, and build individual character through playing competitive baseball under the right mentoring and tutelage. 

 
The Blaze has brought together a group of the areas best high school coaches, former professional players, ex-collegiate players and knowledgeable travel baseball coaches to manage, coach and train our teams.  All of our Blaze teams utilize professional hitting and pitching instructors for all in-door winter practices and follow-up accordingly in the spring and summer as necessary.  Blaze managers regularly attend camps and clinics for continuing education in baseball fundamentals, mechanics, drills and theory.  Our Blaze managers also lead free winter baseball clinics for in-house players to share their knowledge and give back to the community. 
 
Our goal is to have all of our travel players make their local high school teams.  The Mokena Blaze believes that player development is achieved by teaching our players sound baseball fundamentals and mechanics.  We train our teams at each level in the same manner emphasizing the same core fundamentals and mechanics while using specific age appropriate drills.  We confer with the local area high school coaches to ensure that our players are being properly instructed and coached in a manner that complements our local high school teams’ programs and ensures a smooth transition from competitive youth baseball to high school baseball.
